Ava Dempster
Artist
Ava Makana Dempster is a Vitacca Ballet Company Artist in Houston, Texas and is originally from Alexandria, Virginia. She trained at The Washington School of Ballet’s Professional Training Division under the direction of Julie Kent, Xiomara Reyes, and Rinat Imaev. Her classical repertoire includes Diana and Acteon, Paquita, Raymonda, Snow Queen in Vitacca Ballet’s Nutcracker, and Clara in The Washington Ballet’s The Nutcracker, to name a few. She has performed company corps de ballet roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Serenade, and other repertoire.
In contemporary works, she has worked with world-renowned choreographers such as Garrett Smith, Sean Aaron Carmon, Micaela Taylor, Mimmo Miccolis, and more. Ava has also been coached by Vanessa Zahorian, Louise Lester, Elise Elliott, Vicky Simon, Martine van Hamel, and Jessica Lang. Ava has earned accolades from the Cecchetti Council of America.
Ava is a lover of the arts, passionate for choreographing and performing, and is the one to see on the stage! In her free time, she loves to shop, try out new cafes, develop her photography/videography skills, and explore her artistic style!
